Common Questions
When do I meet my Videographer?
Planning your wedding probably feels like a 2nd job already- you have a life, right?! We have our professionals contact you by phone and email so you aren’t trying to fit a meeting into your already hectic schedule. We’ll send out all of the contact details as your big day approaches, so that everyone is focused on your event. So, instead of your videographer dealing with potential and past customers the week of your wedding, that time is spent solely preparing for YOUR day. By then, your timeline is in place, and your videographer can be more focused on capturing your vision once all of the t’s are crossed and i’s are dotted. Not only does this take some of the stress off your plate, it takes it off of the videographer’s as well- no guessing games, just great service.
What comes with the base services that you offer?
All packages include coverage by a Certified Wedding Bug videographer, 24/7 backup service, and raw footage shot in HD and delivered on user-friendly USB with full editing rights.
How many hours do I need?
Every wedding day is different, so the amount of hours you need really depends on what you want captured. Its best to schedule the videogapher an hour prior to the ceremony to allow time for those oh so important staging shots that will set the tone for your video and give it a story line: shots of the venue, the decor and details, guests arriving, and of course, your arrival! We recommend the 8 hours to cover the day from start to finish (which can sometimes include prep if time allows). Our 6 hour package will cover most of the essentials, starting with the ceremony with a little more brevity. Our 4 hour option is best for weddings at one location. So the best thing to do is think about your wedding timeline and base your choice on how much of it you want captured.
What’s Raw Footage?
Your raw footage is the keystone to any video- it’s all of the footage that your videographer captures on the big day. The raw footage is not 8 hours of video, but 1-2 hours (you don’t want an hour or two of people eating dinner, right?) The good news? You keep your raw footage no matter what. The great news? You can always upgrade to an edited package to get that polished finished product you’ve been dreaming of.
Why should I get a 2nd Videographer?
Two perspectives on the day means double the angles! A 2nd Videographer captures the actions and reactions of you and your guests throughout the day. It also gives you the shot that every bride dreams of: the one of your honey seeing you coming down the aisle (preferably with very happy tears in their eyes).
How does Custom Editing work?
It’s your day, and the story should be told your way! Custom Editing means that we take the cues from you; you tell us what you want to stay in, and what can hit the cutting room floor in order to tell your perfect wedding day story. And no matter what you keep your complete raw footage so you have 2 ways to relive the best day ever. Simple, right?
